Registration and login

Do I have to register?

If you only want to read messages and follow discussions on the bulletin boards, you won’t need to register. But if you want to join in you’ll have to register. Registration is free and you don’t have to give your real name. You are required to post a working email address, choose a case-sensitive password and accept the terms of service. Register here.

Once I register, can I change my username?

No. So choose it wisely. Please bear in mind there is no separate user ID – if you use your real name to register, that is what will appear on all your posts.

What do I do if I lose my username or password?

Retrieving your login information is simple. Go to the Sign In page, where you’ll find a link called Forgot? Once you’ve clicked it, you fill in your email address or username, and your details will be sent instantly to the email address you gave when you registered. If it does not appear check your junk or spam folder. Here’s a direct link to the Reset my password page.

My password is hard to remember… what should I do?

Change it to something more memorable! You don’t have to stick with the password the system emailed you. Go into your profile, click the Change My Password link on the right, and then change it to something you won’t forget.
